Comment Topic: Announcements / My current tasks, ordered by priority

Wow, 100 degrees? Is that unusual in Seattle? I have some friends in Huntington Beach who don’t have air conditioning, because it’s 72 degrees there all the time. Do people in Seattle not have AC also?

Here in KY, we’re having the coolest summer in my lifetime (a little less than 40 years :-) )

Comment Topic: Announcements / My current tasks, ordered by priority

Sometimes, items I’m selling show up on the “Current” tab. Is that a known issue?

I have 17 auctions going right now, and 1 of the items is on the Current tab, zero on the “Selling”, even after “Get selling”. I’m running 2.0.1

What is the recommended version right now?

Comment Topic: eBay Chat / Ebay CAPTCHA

I’ve been seeing the Ebay CAPTCHA lately.. is it because I am using JBW? I’ve never seen it before this week, but I’ve been using JBW for several months…

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Development / Refactoring jbidwatcher

I came to the forums today to ask a question related to this discussion, which is “How do the Sniping Web Services work if they don’t use the API?”

They don’t seem to have the problems with changing page text like JBW, even one of the free ones I have used, so I assumed they were using the API.

Comment Topic: General Sniping Discussion / Recommended Amounts?

I usually bid $x.73. It’s best to bid an odd number, because if you bid $15.00 and someone else put in a proxy bid for $15 earlier, they win. Any odd amount above the flat dollar amount will work though. I just picked $0.73 at random, and because it’s above $0.50, which is often a bid increment.

The $15.01 could have happened because of previous bids of odd amounts ($9.01, $10.01). The $0.50 or $1.00 increment then added on top of those amounts, and because someone else had a higher proxy bid than your $15, they won. Their bid might have been $25, so they would have won either way.

I tend to be pretty aggressive with my snipe amounts, if it’s an item I really want. I bid what I think it will take to win the item, based on the average selling price of other similar items, plus $0.73, and hope for the best.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / "Unknown sniping error", but the snipe succeeded. Huh?

I’m using the 1.0.3pre1 version and got an “Unknown sniping error” today (bid was successful).

I can send in the error page from the advanced menu, if necessary…

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Tips and Tricks / Automatic relist of unsold items?

Is there more Seller functionality planned for the “Selling” tab? I would love to be able to automatically relist unsold items after the end of the auction. Some of the “Premium” Ebay services have this feature.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Anybody been getting this recently

I was getting it, but snipes were successful. I haven’ tried any in the past few days.
