I am already running a linux server at home and this is running (usually) without an X11 display. Consequently, I was wondering whether if it is already possible to run JBidWatcher in batch mode without a GUI.

Thinking about this some more. I think deployment as a simple Java EE web application with a user interface, engine, and persistence (e.g. current XML file solution would also work) would also be nice. That would allow running JBidWatcher in batch and could provide a nice UI for web browsers so that JBidWatcher does not have to run a webserver itself.

What are your thoughts about this? Is the ‘engine’ part already separated from the UI in such a way that it would be easy to add a web application on top of it? If that’s the case, I could even do some development on it and donate the results back.
