I haven’t been using JbidWatcher because it has stopped working for me a while back.
Now that Jbidwatcher 1.0.1 was released i’ve decided to try to make it work.
Unfortunately it still isn’t working for me.

When i start Jbidwatcher it says:

No auction account error; you can not updade the login cookie without first entering your login information…..

then it says something like ebay’s security increased requires human intervention….

when i move the mouse pointer over to Not Loged in (on top right of JbidWatcher) it says:

ebay’s increased security monitoring has been trigered. Jbid can not log in for a while.

It is strange because i haven’t been using jbid in over 6 months.

Also when I go to File >> Configure ….. then my java script starts but it doesn’t run. It is a closed window at the buttom of the screen. If i double click to open it it shuts down.

I thought maybe if I use a different account it may work but i can’t chage account info.

I have the latest Jave intalled (just checked)

Please any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

PS

I am using Window XP Home ed

And Java 6.1 …….

Congratulations!

You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 1).

I’ve tried to unplug the internet cable, start jbidwatcher and change my ebay user account but it doesn’t allow me that either.
Java starts but it doesn’t run properly. It’s a minimized window again when I try to double click it it closes.

Greetings,
That sounds really weird.

It sounds like Java’s giving you problems in general here… I don’t completely get what you’re saying in:

It’s a minimized window again when I try to double click it it closes.

I’m guessing that JBidwatcher is starting up minimized (which is weird).

I also don’t know what you mean by:

then my java script starts but it doesn’t run. It is a closed window at the buttom of the screen. If i double click to open it it shuts down.

In general a minimized window should be single-clicked to restore it. And it’s not Javascript, it’s Java, but that’s not an issue.

I’m going to give a shot in the dark and ask if maybe JBidwatcher or Java is not being allowed through your firewall?

Hi, Morgan

Thank you so much for your responce. Jbidwatcher starts normaly. when i start it, a little window pops up saying that: No auction account error; you can not updade the login cookie without first entering your login information on the ebay configuration tab. After i click Ok JbidWatcher runs. (see pic. of my screenshot). But it doesn’t log in. If I try to change to a different account (pic 2) after I select configure a little Java window shows (see pic 2) it looks just like a minimized internet explorer window. If i click on it (or double click) it just disapears.

I’ve tried disabling firewall, it didn’t solve the problem.

I’ve also tried to disable Java in iternet settings.

Reseting the computer every time.

Should i try to uninstall Java and reinstall?

Thank you so much for all your help,

Paul

same identical problem… It is certainly due to this:

Why this addictional control? How do I resolve the problem?

Thanks

I already tried changing the password, but nothing changes. It still says “login not correct” (but username and password afre correct, of course) and ask me to fill in the text of that image…

Weird. I was having a problem with it logging me in, then I saw a post in another thread to try quitting the software and reopening it. This seems to have fixed my problem at least!

Quitting and reopening the program was unuseful for me. I think the problem was depending on ebay, after 1 or 2 days everything went back to its normal working…

Greetings,

Unfortunately, what you’ve run into is eBay’s CAPTCHA, as described here:

http://www.jbidwatcher.com/help/faq.shtml#ans9

I’ve been on vacation for nearly everything after my last response (driving across the USA with my wife), which is why I didn’t get back to you sooner.

As fedcas notes, it goes away after a day or so of not using eBay via JBidwatcher.
