Hi,

since last night (almost) all of my auctions show (FP) even though they should be regular auctions. Obviously that makes it impossible to bid/snipe on them. Please help!

I’m using 2.5-0-g8f10beb on WinXP and the most recent Java 7 Update 5, account and items watched on ebay.de.

Greetings,

Yeti88

added info: ebay.de today shows various links and corresponding text in English instead of German. Seems like they’re doing some design changes again, which is not unusual especially on a Friday morning. Anything you can do about that, Morgan? I have several hundred auctions in my list that I would hate not to be able to snipe on. :-((

Yes, I think ebay is changing a lot lately. All my WATCHED items are gone, over100+ of them all gone, and I have to start it all over again. Did ebay send out warning before they just totally removed all my watched items?

Oh, there’s a link kind of not obvious on the watched items page, a link to tell ebay if you like the new page, which I clicked and tell them I hate it coz it removed all my watched items.

Same has happen here in the UK. ALL auctions now show as (FP) so has had the effect of killing JBidwatcher as it will not snipe on (FP) items. Come back Morgan all is forgivern! :-)

I am USA based, so besides the watched items are wiped clean to start over again, all are fine, still adding new with no issues and bidding and sniping as usual (winning too many things that I don’t need).

Would it help if you guys login to USA ebay.com first? Just wondering

Oddly enough everything is back to normal on ebay.de currently, all auctions show the appropriate price and number of bids. I haven’t changed a thing on either JBidWatcher or eBay, so the changes must have taken place on eBay’s end. Maybe something to watch out for in the future.

Avatar zappram 290 post(s)

well, maybe somehow, all the servers are supposed to link data together (cache bases), but since some are crashed or removed or data were deleted, they may effect others?

anyhow, glad that all are back to normal. Now go back and snipe more to win win win :D

VERY odd! All was back to normal on Saturday (21st July) but when I started JBidWatcher today (22nd July) everything had gone back to (FP). Restarted JBidWatcher now everythings back to normal!! Can anybody shed any light on whats going on? I’m in the UK using Win XP and Java version 7 Update 5.

same here on ebay germany (Sunday 22nd July) on Mac OSX, Windows and Linux.

Once again, my JBidwatcher (querying ebay.co.uk) went back to displaying all auctions as (FP). This intermittent display indicates that Ebay’s rolling out changes.

So, don’t rely on a scheduled snipe: JBW might turn your auctions into (FP) just a moment before it’s supposed to fire.

Avatar zappram 290 post(s)

sorry to hear that.

I am USA based, only use ebay.com and so far so good, still sniping and winning whenever, my last snipe win is Yesterday.

Can you try login ebay.com first?

Same here, broken again. All auctions on ebay.de, ebay.co.uk, and ebay, com show as FP, No sniping possible.

Avatar Wolfgang 5 post(s)

Upon further testing, I must correct the above. ebay.com seems to work ok in most cases (maybe in all with few exceptions), but ebay.co.uk and ebay.de still show FP for all auctions I tried.

As of today, everything is working again. Problem seems to be gone, lets hope its gone for good!

seems like we need to kick butts of those monkey who are sitting behind ebay’s servers :D

Hi, new to JBid, have latest version, all ebay.com.au that I have listed are showing “FP” in brackets for regular auctions. Items Im watching (3 in the US) all show number of bids in brackets

Same problem here with ebay.co.uk. The trick with ebay.com didn’t work either! Need of an emergency update! Love the program. Using it for years. Hate it when this happens!

Greetings,
I’ve had a fix for an older (FP) problem for a while, but I’m not sure it’s the same as this problem.

PLEASE GIVE ME ITEM NUMBERS for any items having this problem, preferably ones which are ending in more than a day or so.

— Morgan

Greetings,
Please try JBidwatcher 2.5.2 as just released, and let me know if it resolves the problem.

ebay.co.uk: When 2.5.2 pulled the listings of my current tab for the first time, it FP’ed all items – sorry. Using JBidwatcher’s “Refreshing eBay Session” and then updating all listings made all FPs vanish.

This indicates that EBay’s changes currently affect only a small number of servers: When JBidwatcher hits one of these it goes “FP” . Thus, an Ebay session refresh carries a high probability of JBidwatcher catching an Ebay server being not yet loaded with the new Ebay code.

I guess Ebay is just testing things – a full roll out of new web pages used to take a week or so in the past. We might have to wait for this to happen in order to track down the issue – hunting for maybe 5 out of 100 servers making trouble won’t work.

So, keep an eye on your listings approaching a snipe – when they turn FP just refresh the Ebay session and update the item. If necessary, repeat the two steps until FP is gone.

OS X, USA base, just ebay.com, updated to JBidwatcher (2.5.2-0-g8e3723d)

Every FP showed up on my old listing that’s already in my database. I had no complication with the update, everything seems to be faster, smoother, thanks for the code.

I also added some new items that’s FP, and they look fine also, but the Buy-It-Now Red B symbol does not show on every listings, only some of them, and I don’t know what the differences of those, as they are all with BIN price.

Thanks for the update :D

Win XP SP3, freshly installed JBidwatcher 2.5.2. This morning most of the auctions showed (FP) again. ‘Update all auctions’ didn’t correct the problem, restarting JBidwatcher however did.

Avatar Andreas Stem... 2 post(s)

It seems that it happens only on auctions where PayPal is available and when there is at least one bid (I am not fully sure about the last). “Update Auction” has no effect but restarting JBidwatcher fixes the issue for a while. I am using the GIT version from Aug 11, 2012.
Here is an example of such an auction: 230840706074

Regarding the buy-it-now status icon, it seems that it only appears for auctions where you can make an offer, like 170837326822. It does not appear for other buy it now auctions like 150380924914, 270748098093

BTW, wasn’t there a PayPal icon as well in the past?
