Hi.
I’m using JBidWatcher 2.0 beta 11 on Linux with ebay.de (from Switzerland, but that shouldn’t matter, should it?).
In My eBay, I’m right now watching 63 items. But when I click on eBay → Get My eBay Items in JBidWatcher, it only loads 10 items.
On the terminal window, from where I started JBidWatcher, I see:
-($ ~/Dropbox/Linux/Programme/JBidWatcher/ZuHause)- time bash -x ./jbidwatcher
+ jbidwatcher_dir=.
+ jbidwatcher_major=2.0
+ jbidwatcher_minor=beta
+ jbidwatcher_rel=11
+ jbidwatcher_version=2.0beta11
+ test -d .
+ cd .
+ java -Xmx512m -jar JBidwatcher-2.0beta11.jar —usb

I see the same problem with beta 11. I’m running JBidWatcher under Windows XP Pro with JRE 6.0 Update 11.
I have 50 items in my eBay watch list but only 10 get loaded and then JBidWatcher reports a communication error. If I manually add the auction that caused the parse error then it loads fine.

Update: This seems to be a simple ‘count’ issue and nothing to do with specific auctions. I deleted a couple of items from the start of my watch list and pulled down My eBay Items. JBidWatcher loaded the item that first failed on the previous load and one more but then stopped with the same error after 10 items had been loaded.
Has a new setting been introduced that limits the number of items loaded? I can’t see anything under File -> Configure.
I hope this helps.

I have the same issue. Only 10 watched items are imported when using “Get My Ebay Items”.
Before Ebay forced the new My Ebay on everyone, if I reverted back to the old version and opted out of the new version, the “Get My Ebay Items” would work flawlessly.
Now as My Ebay only shows the first 10 items, it seems as that’s all that Jbidwatcher can see.

Greetings,
There’s a setting at the bottom of most My eBay lists (on the eBay site) that allows you to set how many items to view per page. By default I think that’s set to 10; try changing it and seeing if it helps.

Mine is doing the same thing. 2.0 Beta 11-736
only the 10 auctions ending soonest are detected. I have My eBay set to display 25 auctions. I also agree that this seems to have occurred when eBay went to the “new” format.
I had about 75 watched auctions as of a couple days ago, and they all sniped successfully, but nothing new has been added for several days now to the jbidwatcher list.
I can add auctions manually, and every time an item expires, a new item gets added to bring the total displayed back to ten. It would be great if I could schedule snipes beyond ten though.
I’m guessing that something must have changed about the way eBay responds to queries from the web. I’m no programmer though.
Thanks for the great app, and any fix that might emerge,
xarxx

I can confirm this with 2.0 beta 11 and 1.02. I have ebay set to show 100 items. This problem only occurred in the last few days, so clearly ebay has done something recently.

I had the same problem and tried Morgan’s fix (even before I saw it here), and it worked for me. Symptom was that is only captured the first several days of items and nothing from the end of my pages of Watched and Bidding items. Just remember that eBay does not have a global setting for items per page; you have to reset for Bidding, Watching, etc. 2.0Beta 11 Mac OS X 10.4.11

I switched over to the new Beta of My eBay, set the items per page to 100 and now everything imports fine.
However, I do now see another strange behaviour – I currently have 73 items in my watch list, all of which have either individual or multiple snipes set. However, when I float my mouse over the JBidWatcher icon in XP’s notification area then I am told that there are only 9 snipes outstanding. Yesterday I also noticed that a snipe that looked to be set-up fine in the main JBidWatcher window did not fire even though the snipe amount was well above the final sale price of the item.

Greetings,
That’s definitely troubling.
Is there any pattern to it? Like it says that there are 9 snipes outstanding, and there are only 9 non-multisnipe snipes listed?
If you shut down JBidwatcher and restart it, does that change anything?
I don’t believe my latest test version will change anything, but you could try it, and see if it does.

Sounds like we have a solution to the original problem, thanks!
I changed the “watched items” view (click on “watch” in the “summary” column on the left side of “My eBay” page) to display up to 200 items. When I did that, the problem with jbidwatcher not showing all my watched auctions was instantly fixed (after a refresh of jbidwatcher).
I agree with vumad though, I have about 18 scheduled snipes but the system tray icon says 8. I don’t do multisnipes, so that can’t be it I don’t think. I restarted jbidwatcher too, no help. jbidwatcher successfully sniped auctions on the 29th and 31st though, so I think it is still working ok.

JBid is also incredibly slow to load now, can be up to 10 minutes
Hope you can find a fix or point us i nthe right direction

Delving around some more
Does it make any difference if Java is in C:\Program files and JBidwatcher is on D:\Program files (not enough space on C:)
I deleted some items in Ebay then
“Get my Ebay items”
Jbid keeps the deleted items in and adds back up to 10 of the active Ebay items.
I noticed there are some huge error files and others from way back.
Good idea to delete them, perhaps aid faster loading ?

Greetings,
Are you using ebay.com or a non-US eBay site? If you’re using a non-US eBay site, you might need to change your number of watched items shown at a time specifically on the ebay.com site. (I’m not sure, offhand, as I don’t have any non-US accounts; eBay doesn’t allow it.)
Are you using eBay’s new ‘My eBay Beta’? If so, you need to opt out of that.
Try using JBidwatcher 2.0beta12 (the test release of the next version) and see if that helps at all.
For the loading time problem, can you get an idea how many auctions you have in current, completed, selling, etc…? (If you select everything using Ctrl-A, there should be a number at the bottom that tells you how many are in that tab. Go to each tab, and add up the numbers…)
You can delete any error logs you like (well, preferably not the current one) and it won’t affect JBidwatcher at all. It doesn’t read from them on startup, or anything like that.
The core ‘watched items’ issue is usually that your settings on My eBay are to only show 10 at a time, and JBidwatcher just reads the first page of them, or that you have the ‘beta’ enabled on your account.

Ebay.co.uk
I’ve changed the Watched items view a few times in “Customise Items I’m Watching”
currently set to 100 per page. Might some other setting be reelvant ?
Not using the beta (have a message top right suggesting I “Try out the Beta”)
Would a Muppet be ok with JBidwatcher beta12 ?
:-)
In complete I have 4874 items. Current is 15. Selling 0
Hope this might be helpful
And I just ticked “Monitor” so I can get back to you faster !
Thanks again

Greetings,
Well, it tells me that JBidwatcher is looking at 10 items per page, for example… Unfortunately that’s the default, so it’s not using your settings. Strange idea; if you go to www.ebay.com, and look at your settings there (in My eBay on ebay.com, instead of ebay.co.uk), and make sure the setting is for 100 per page…see if that helps?
A…muppet? I’m not entirely sure…what you mean. Contextually, I’m guessing a non-techie. :)
Does JBidwatcher take a really long time to start up for you? 4,874 items in ‘complete’ is a lot. I’ve made a change in the 2.0beta12 code to better support that sort of thing, but I’m not entirely sure how much it’ll help.
You can get the unreleased, test version of the next version and try it. You can always go back to your previous version if it doesn’t work for you. (Although I’d appreciate a note to that effect! :) )

I have the same problem of not all items being loaded using Beta12 and now with release 2. If I revert back to Beta 11 and click “Get My Ebay Items” all my watched items appear! If I then open Version 2 the items still do not appear – if I try and add items manually I get the error “Can not add item xxxxxxxx as it is already in your list” but it is not shown. So the problem seems to be that JBidWatcher is not able to make the items “viewable”. There seems to be no logic why items are or not shown but it’s a serious flaw as I couldn’t “see” over 30 auctions. Version Beta 11 works fine…. Regards Hoddy

Basically the ‘already in your auction list’ message indicates that there is an entry already containing that listing. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be showing up, though. Turn on debugging and logging, and start JBidwatcher up. It’ll dump a message into the log about how many auctions it found in the database (active/unique/total entries, unique/total auctions); that’s often a useful piece of information. For example, if unique auctions is larger than unique entries, then some number of entries have gotten ‘lost’ someplace.

Hi Morgan,
Sorry, I didn’t see that the topic (not all Ebay items are being taken into account) has been discussed here.
So, I have the same problem than everybody else, it doesn’t accept more than 7 items for me (even I display 44 in Ebay).
If I try to add the missing one manually, it says “already in the list”!!!
Also each time I do anything in Jbid (open a command, ask to get the Ebay items…) I loose the bid I have set.
Regards
