I usually set my snipe at 2 sec with no problems.
I missed an auction yesterday by 1 sec. Looking at the text file 2 sec before auction it prepared snipe. 1 sec before I was highest bidder and then lost auction to another higher bidder.
Was I outsniped by another sniping program, or was I outbid by Ebay on a higher buyer.
What do most users set for the snipe time?
Thanks

Greetings,
I was on vacation for several weeks, so it’s taking me some time to backfill and answer all of the questions. Hope this is still helpful…

There’s no way for me to answer that for sure without seeing the item and its bid history.

I don’t recommend any closer than 10 seconds, officially, as few people can respond in that timeframe. (They may have their own snipes set up, but they can’t take in the information of your bid, and turn it around to change their bid in time.)

In general, the odds are you were outbid by a higher bidder, unfortunately.

Best of luck with your other auctions!

The latest bid does not win – the highest bid wins always. There are many advantages to sniping, but it doesn’t guarantee a win.
