hi folks,

ok i admit i have not read every message in here, but hopefully someone can fill me in..

here is the info from a snide that just failed:

Listing ended at
Sun Jun 03 17:20:53 PDT 2007
Listing is ended.

Events
Sun Jun 03 19:15:06 PDT 2007: Preparing snipe. (1)
Sun Jun 03 20:20:54 PDT 2007: Cancelling snipe, auction is reported as ended. (1)
Sun Jun 03 20:20:54 PDT 2007: Cancelling snipe. (1)

i cant seem to make any sense of the times. Jbidwatcher is currently reporting the time as around 17:30 and this just failed a few minutes ago, the auction closed some minutes ago. I am on the east coast if that matters and its around 8:30 pm and im connecting via a broadband. I have my snipe set to go at 20 seconds. Did it just miss by a few seconds ?

thanks a bunch

I had the same problem this morning. JBidwatcher successfully sniped an auction 7 seconds before the end last night, but this morning it failed with the error:

Greetings,

Let’s see, if it’s about 8:30p, it’s about 5:30p in PDT, or 1730, so that’s about right, for when it was supposed to end. Those events logged are WEIRD, I admit. In fact, they seem to have nothing to do with the listing part…unless…well, normally I’d suggest that your computer was asleep, or something. But the ‘Preparing snipe’ should have been 3 minutes later, for example. I have no idea, from that information. I’d probably have to look at the logs in detail for June 3rd.

For snipe-gt, that sounds like you shut down the program and it failed to save its auctions data, so when it restarted it tried to fire the snipe again…

Morgan, I didn’t shutdown the program. The messages were logged at 9AM EST – the auction ended at 8:32 PDT or (11:32 EDT). So it thought the auction ended 2.5 hours earlier than it really did. I logged this on sourceforge as issue 1743717. Unfortunately, I hit the refresh button a couple hours later and accidentally added the same issue as 1743870 – sorry.
