Posted to another thread, but you might try disabling “app nap” in the info panel in 10.9. I haven’t yet tried sniping with “app nap” disabled, but it looks like Mavericks is putting individual apps to sleep despite system-wide energy saver settings.

Has anyone tried disabling “app nap” in the app’s “Info” panel in 10.9? I’ve checked “Prevent App Nap,” but haven’t tried sniping on an auction yet.
