Topic: Which JRE?

Dave, I use 8 and 64-bit. I know Java 12 does not work. Not sure about Java 11.

Topic: Which JRE?

sure, but I’m using MacOS and don’t have to worry much as most needed codes are build in. Perhaps you can try matching the 64-bit to your Windows installation, as for the version, try the newest, and if not working, then you need to go back down.

So I would say try 64-bit Java runtime x64 11.0.3 first.
Sorry, not much sure help.
Best of luck.

Topic: Is the savefile (auctions.xml) defunct?

Greetings,
I don’t really have enough time to dig into this and find if there’s an alternate feature you could use, but yeah, the XML save file is kaput. It really hadn’t been keeping up with all the changes I was doing, and supporting the code to keep it going was making it hard to do other development.

It should be possible to do the same thing with a small Java program that queries the database, or some other mechanisms, but it’d take me a bit of time to figure out the best way to expose that.

I’m sorry about that.

Topic: Can no longer add items into JBidwatcher!!

Greetings,
The null items are ones that aren’t visible in the US, generally due to not offering PayPal as an option; go into JBidwatcher’s configuration and under the eBay tab, set the ‘Prefer non-US…’ checkbox. You’ll probably have to restart. After that, it’ll do all its item retrieval and bidding against ebay.co.uk, instead of ebay.com, which should give you access to items listed in non-US marketplaces and without PayPal support.

The ‘yellow’ button is probably eBay putting up a message on login, that JBidwatcher doesn’t recognize. Log in as yourself on eBay and see what they’re prompting, if anything.

Slow performance I don’t know as much about, but that’s usually because you have too many items in the Complete section. (Or in general.)

Topic: Can no longer add items into JBidwatcher!!

On the french ebay.fr site I could add items until two days ago where I was stopped by the “yellow” button and could no longer add anything. Some items get added as a “null” description, while the vast majority of add requests just die silently …
I also noticed the sluggishness of JW, albeit I am not sure it started exactly at the same time.

Topic: Can no longer add items into JBidwatcher!!

It would seem Ebay have made some changes (to the UK site) as I can no longer add items into JBidWatcher. If I click ‘Get My Ebay Items’ it tells me how many are new but doesn’t add them. I also cannot add items by inputting their number. So for me JBidWatcher is now broken…..

Topic: Problems I'm looking at...

Greetings,
The problem is a new one, it’s not related to the sub-1000 ticket numbers. (Those should all be resolved, as I fixed them in the past.)

The new problem is that eBay changed how it indicates you’ve won an auction, and JBidwatcher isn’t picking up that you are the winning bidder. :( I have to figure out what the new format/issue is.

Topic: Problems I'm looking at...

Greetings,
This is a list of problems I’m looking at out of the ticket tracker. They’re not all going to be resolved (some of them may never be!), but I’m trying to understand how much work remains to get the next 2.1 pre-release out, and eventually the actual 2.1 release.

Without further ado…the list:

  • My eBay problems (#668, #652, #823, #881, #867, #912, #906, #905, #913, #920, #927, #931)
  • Mem/CPU issues (#118, #179, #175, #570, #656, #644?, #851, #794, #858)
  • Incomplete items moving to Complete prematurely (#755, #769, #815, #893, #874, #910)
  • Vague time sync issues (#346, #354, #544, #416, #734, #779)
  • Losing the menus (#52, #834, #883, #880, #873, #868)
  • Revamp login status (#55, #58, #909, #895)
  • Relisted items not moving out of Complete (#166, #764)
  • Username with ‘*’ in it? (#255)
  • Private listings don’t detect when the user has won (#249)
  • Why the heck would an entry have N/A as an end time? (#872)

…and a whole host of vague, almost impossible to debug, ‘My snipe failed! Why?!?’ tickets, some of which are very old, and therefore probably fixed (if they were a software problem), and some which aren’t.
