Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / ubuntu, not starting

Michael,
When I installed kubuntu 9.10 , there was no java pre-installed.
I downloaded and installed Sun Java 6.
I downloaded ‘JBidwatcher-2.1pre4.jar’ and put it on my desktop.
JBid would not lauch then, and this may have been the state where you are stuck now.

I then ran ‘System Configuration’ from the menu, and from there the ‘File Association’ utility.
I found the ‘x-java-archive’ file type, and then associated it with ‘Sun Java 6 Runtime’.
This solved the problem.
Does that help ?

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / ubuntu, not starting

Hello,
I use kubuntu, which is very close to ubuntu.
After installing java (Sun java 6), I had to associate the ‘x-java-archive’ file type with ‘Sun Java 6 Runtime’ in the system configuration application.
Then, my JBidwatcher.jar file was launched as a java application.
Hope this helps !

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / 2.1pre4-1010 is sniping way too early

Hello,

I just experienced a too early bid when changing the snipe price during the last 2 minutes countdown.
It fired just after I changed the amount.
This was with 2.1pre4-1010 version.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Most auctions appear as FP

Morgan,

Thank you for pre3 and the various fixes !
One new issue : item bought with ‘buy it now’ is not shown properly e.g. item 160350510070.
Other point : items I bought recently are show with the correct high bidder information but still remain written in brown, not with the blue highlight.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Get My eBay Items stopped working

Morgan,

With the 2.1pre2 release sniping works fine
from Europe to buy a US item offered worldwide
from Europe to buy a European item offered worldwide
and also on items offered only locally.
Bidding doesn’t work
from Europe to buy a US item offered worldwide and seems to freeze JBid.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Get My eBay Items stopped working

I have tried to bid right now, and it didn’t work,
nothing is sent to eBay, and nothing is shown on JBid
either in the information window or in the Max column.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Get My eBay Items stopped working

Morgan,

Thank you for the quick fix.
I tested it under Linux : no more freezes, seller ID reappears, and I can add new auctions again.
Haven’t tested bidding or sniping yet.
One problem remains : the high bidder remains ‘(unknown)’ on a past won auction that has no bidder hiding.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / "seller" unknown and some strange behaviour

Hello,

For a few hours, I now also have a seller ‘(unknown)’ display on some of my current items.
These can update, but seller remains unknown.

When trying to update current items with the right seller identification, they do not update and JBidwatcher is then blocked.

When trying to update a completed item with unknown seller it will update but not show the buyer id (mine…)

I believe snipes and buy functions are still OK.

I have tried many re-launch of JBidwatcher.
All this is from a european eBay account.
