Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / 2.0 Beta11 can't add new auctions

On a mac. Beta 10 was working. now i can’t add new auctions. I get an error message, something like – communication failed or there is a problem with the server – every time I’ve tried to add one (by pasting in the item number and then clicking Add).
Anyone else having this problem? or know a solution?

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / JBid 2.0 beta 11 bug?

JBidwatcher already has a search feature. you create the search, enable it, then select how often you want the search to be performed. results are then automatically added to your list of auctions.

When the tough times come – and there may be more of them for your wife than you, Morgan – we just kept in mind that the most important thing in the world was our baby!

Yes, and each new thing that Corwin does is precious and wonderful, as I’m sure you know.

Our two bq. babies bq. are now 28 and almost 22!

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Disappearing Columns

I used the command in terminal under Tiger, Mac, and couldn’t get it to work.

touch /Users/USER_NAME/Library/Preferences/JBidwatcher/display.cfg

[I did substitute my username for the one in the example.]

Questions: Should there be a space after the word touch? – which I didn’t do!
In terminal alone I got the response -no such directory -[something like that] and under new command line, it just didn’t work, tested by making visible more columns, then quit and restarted JBidwatcher. What’s wrong!?

Comment Topic: eBay Chat / HIGH LEVEL EBAY EMPLOYEE CONFIRMS JBWatcher BLOCKED!!!!

BID and CONFIRM Question

I noticed that when in ebay a bid has to be placed -and then confirmed! – by clicking on another button. Does this affect jbidwatcher’s sniping!!! Or maybe does jbidwatcher automatically confirm the snipe bid?

I’m just starting to use ebay again after a few years – now with jbidwatcher 2.0beta8 on my mac G4.

Comment Topic: Birdwatching / favorite?

I’m new to the forum – so why not post 8 months after the last one? Hey!
I am a bird listener more than a watcher. My favorite call is from the mourning dove, which I believe should be renamed the Morning Dove, leaving out the U. It only sounds like mourning to the MOURbid person who gave it that name, in my opinion.

Wow! Thanks people. This happened to me too and now I know what to do. What a great forum.

I’m on Mac OS Tiger, but it must be the same thing. Right?

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Bummer - my bid was never done

Yes, I just noticed that too. Ebay changed my name and other bidders to one [unrelated to anything] letter, three asterisks, and one final letter. Like this, for example r*g

They do that to everyone now.

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Memory leak in jbidwatcher?

I just started using jbidwatcher. I’m on a Mac, same exact version of jbidwatcher, 2.0beta8, on Mac OS10.4.11 (Tiger).
For comparison I just opened Activity Monitor to see if this is happening on Mac too. I have Word 2004, Firefox 3, and Jbidwatcher now open. {Word with no doc open]

CPU Real Memory Virtual Memory
Firefox, 4-18% 81 MB 254 MB
Word 2004, 2-6% 55 MB 218 MB
JBidwatcher, 6-18% 69 MB 861 MB

Other than kernel-task, which I think is the system software which uses 1 GB of vitual memory, nothing is close to jbidwatcher in that category.

What this means I don’t know, but I hope this helps you to know if this is a bug.

Congratulations, Morgan, to you and your wife.
Is this your first child? If he is, it’s especially an incredibly treasured time for both of you. Although each baby is wonderful in the extreme. My wife and I have two sons.

Whatever my sons do for work or careers I, too, am happy with, as long as they are happy!

Comment Topic: JBidwatcher Help / Difference betweenSnipe BID & Snipe MAX

There are two similar column headings in JBidwatcher and I should know what they mean before I start using them.

One is Snipe BID
The other is Snipe MAX

What is the difference between them?
