Yeah, it has: Quantity: 50 which fools JBidwatcher into thinking it’s a multi-item listing, and the only valid multi-item listings are fixed price listings. :(

I’ll poke at figuring out how to fix that…

in both v.2.1pre6 and 2.1pre7 i’ve been unable to snipe so far (macpro/leopard 10.5.8). reading the logs it mainly seems to be an issue with time sync, and if i compare the displayed time with the ones from system clock jbidwatcher is always a bit out of sync. changing the snipe timing didn’t help as well and it shouldn’t be my (pretty fast) line as it used to work before like a treat.

I’m going to guess you sniped for $110. Here’s the relevant eBay page: http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bid-increments.html

The short version is that eBay requires you to bid $2.50 more than the previous high bidder for items over $100, or it won’t accept your bid. (You’ll get a message that reads ‘Your bid must be at least {amount}’, or sometimes simply ‘Enter {amount} or more’, where {amount} is the current high bid + the minimum bid increment at the current bid price.

The key line in there appears to be this:

Your bid was already too low at the pre-bid point (eBay rejected it), so it cancelled the snipe.

Topic: Mysaifu or IBM's J9?

JBidwatcher uses Swing, which is generally not supported by Java ME platforms.

My mobile solution is more likely to be a centralized server that can control a JBidwatcher running on a home box. That way you can connect to a pretty normal web page, sign in, and your home JBidwatcher checks in every half hour or so, to see if there’s any extra work to be done.

I got this “communication failure” and “failed to load” etc. with my two last snipes as well.

I assume there was a problem reaching ebay, at least that’s what the error message says.
So far I haven’t uddated my version, I’m still on version 1.02 – wonder if that could be the problem, not the ebay servers.
