Topic: No longer able to "log on" I had trouble logging in to eBay yesterday. JBidWatcher was not loading all of my watched items, so I was fooling around settings and the installation. Looks like I tried to log in at some point with the wrong password, and eBay turned on their captcha security feature. I found a thread on the forum about this issue and the solution was to log in to eBay with a browser, then wait about a day for them to turn the captcha back off. Waited until this morning to run JBidWatcher and now it’s logging in OK. |

Topic: No longer able to "log on" Hi, Sounds like you have not set the proxy settings or you may need to grant JBidWatcher permission to get through your Firewall. Regards |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Hi Morgan, Just tried out 1.0.2pre4 on OSX 10.3.9 1.0.2pre4 got rid of two out of the three red eyes in my Jbidwatcher. Tried to manually update the remaining red eye but no luck. Also will not synchronise with ‘My eBay’ :-( Can I just say that jbidwatcher is an AWESOME program and I really really appreciate all the time and effort that you put into bringing us this software. I encourage all jbidwatcher users to send you a donation via PayPal. It’s people like you who really make the internet a great place!!! Take care, Dean (SystemError) |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 In 1.0.2pre4 I have a prblem with time synchronisation with server time. My snipe was actually launched after the auction end. Synchronisation is turned on in my configuration. At the bottom of the screen it shows (without any updating) server is 17:32:50 EST while mine shows 17:32:53 EST/17:33:11 EST. In time information option it shows time delta as -21640. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Meanwhile a snipe worked sucessfully (although my bid was slightly to low, so I lost in the end). But the bug preventing from quitting seems more severe than it looked at the first time. JBW has started to log the following error message every second. Log size is now about 28 MBytes and increasing. Tue Jul 24 07:47:34 CEST 2007: Exception during the check() operation of class AuctionsManager At least Martin Bürkel (see http://forum.jbidwatcher.com/forums/1/topics/10…) and I can reproduce this problem. To support fixing: Which data should I provide? Thanks to all working on JBW! Regards Stefan |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Well, Pre4 worked ok last night (won 2 out of 3), but the red eye is back. However, if eBay is having a problem, lets hope they can fix it ASAP. I really appreciate all the work you put into this, it is the best software on my machine! russ132 |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 HI Morgan, Great job getting things back on line – Thanks! A couple of funnies still in 1.0.2pre4 on my Win2K system here in Scotland. 1. Cannot shut down Jbid other than through task manager – after refusing to close jbid causes CPU load to briefly jump approx 20% in regular 1 second cycles until forced to shut-down. 2. Deleted auctions won’t stay deleted. – After a re-start, re-run searches bring back previously deleted auctions. I think this may have something to do with not shutting down correctly – see above. Keep up the great work! |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Greetings, Yeah…wow. I dug into what was causing the occasional red-eye issues, to see if there was anything I could do. There isn’t. This is the message that’s coming back on those pages:The eBay page or feature you are attempting to access is not responding.” This means eBay is having system issues. It’s probably one or two boxes that aren’t responding well, and when the load-balancer sends the request to them, it fails. :( That problem should go away as eBay fixes up their system. — Morgan Schweers, CyberFOX! |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 I can confirm the reports from other users that the red-eyes sporadically come and go for me, also, using 1.0.2pre4 under OSX10.3. There seems to be no pattern as to which auctions will show the red-eye during which automatic updates, and they all go away immediately when each offending auction is manually updated. The console log shows that this pair of messages is the most common cause: However, this type of message also appears on occasion (but so far not twice for the same auction): David |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Have just installed windows pre4 on Vista using eBay Australia. Auctions now appear to be updating again, although 2 of them had redeye until I had run ‘Update Auction’ several times. Looks good so far. I have a snipe set in about 7 hours so will report back then. Big pat on the back to Morgan and everyone else working so hard on this. JBW is immensely useful software that I love, use and recommend regularly. Thanks, |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Get my eBay items and update works for me, too. Thanks a lot. But the log still contains a number of irritating messages and it won’t terminate. Mon Jul 23 01:34:57 CEST 2007: Getting the sign in cookie. [dl6dx@ebay: 23-Jul-2007 01:34:57 CEST/23-Jul-2007 01:34:57 CEST] Environment: Sun Java 6 (Update 02) in XP. May be it’s just a minor problem? Regards Stefan |

Topic: Yet another test version 1.0.2pre4 Morgan, thanks for the speedy updates. I’m still getting the occasional “red eye” on queued items—they periodically appear on an update, clear on a later update, then appear again, etc. Relative the number of items queued, it’s only a small fraction of listings that behave in this manner. An example would be item #160139144441 (ebay.com) but it just cleared the red eye (again) on the last update. OS X 10.4.10 / Intel |
