I just downloaded 1.0.2pre4 and it has added an auction (don’t know if sniping works yet).
But howcome whenever I start it, I get a notice about an update being available, when I’m really using the latest version right now?

Using Pre4, was able to snipe an auction and get the correct response from both eBay and JBidWatcher. Looks like Pre4 is working.

Well, I joined the community here just to report my finding’s….
With Win2K and 1.0.2pre2, this Sunday morning, it’s not working for me…no updating of “My ebay” items…I haven’t tried it on the Vista laptop yet.
Morgan, just a note to let you know that I appreciate your efforts and your program…I’ve been using it ever since “Auction Station” went TU and it’s been a great asset.
In fact, it was SWMBO that alerted me to the fact that JBidwatcher wasn’t working…man, nothing like the ire of a woman who loses a cheap snipe on a item of classic clothing they want!
Again, thanks for all the work.

Further to my post of yesterday, I can confirm that sniping on ebay.co.uk is working. HOWEVER, retrieval of post-snipe information fails with “Failed to load from server (4)”.

Overnight (now 22 Jul EDT) eBay seems to have broken things again. The first clue was my usual bookmark to MyeBay summary page invoked the “guests go here, registered users go here” page instead of either MyeBay page or the daily “please login” page. Greetings,
Larry: Yeah, the Show Last Error information would be best; usually Show Last Error is pretty clear about what the failure is… This suggests that they may have changed the ‘outbid’ text…again.

Hello,
I’m not sure if this was a failure because my snipe was outbid by someone else, but I did notice the following in the Auction Information that makes me wonder if there was a problem with the snipe. This is with 1.0.2pre2 under Vista. eBay item is 180139594571 and my snipe was set for 3 seconds at $13.13. Let me know if you’d also like the data from Show Last Error.
btw, Morgan, thanks for a great tool, I have been enjoying using it for a while now.

Greetings,
ottrider: are you running 1.0.2pre2? (You can check the version number in the Help | About box.) I seem to be able to add that item okay…
mikethebike: Thanks! I’ve looked at Google Checkout a little bit, but I’m going to give it time to ‘season’. I know what PayPal went through with fraud in its early days, and I want to wait a bit on Checkout until they’ve gotten past the fraud hurdle that pretty much none of the other payment methods managed to get past.

I just upgraded to 1.0.2pre2 for Windows, and am using XP SP2 Home. It doesn’t give an end time for BINs but aside from that I was able to successfully refresh, update My Ebay, and snipe with 3 seconds left. Aside from the item mentioned, I’d say this is a go! :)

Morgan The only thing I see with the Windows version of your update is the time left for Buy It Now items is defaulting to 30 days when I Got My eBay. When it updated the current Buy It Nows on JBid it installed N/A in the time left. At the next update it changed all of the 30 day times left to N/A. Much Much better than before. Thanks for your hard work! Noah

As a UK user of JBidwatcher, subscribed to ebay.co.uk, I am really pleased to report that 1.0.2pre2 now successfuly updates auctions and allows auctions to be pasted. I have not yet had the opportunity to test sniping but will hopefully be able to report on that later today.
Well done!

Just tried to snipe in an auction and JBidWatcher gave an ‘error connecting’ just as it tried to put the snipe in. I was outsniped anyway, which means it was no great loss, but my late bid didn’t seem to get in. Vista/pre2.

Just installed on Mac OS X.4.10. I don’t see any problems—updated existing auctions, read in new ones. I don’t have a snipe set until 12 hours from now though, so can’t test that.

Have just installed the Windows version of pre2 under Vista and it’s successfully updated old auctions, loaded new ones from my eBay and made some bids. Though I haven’t sniped with it yet, all appears fine so far.

Great Work!
