[Happy] I fixed 'Buy', one of the big bugs...
A new release sounds good to me Morgan
JBid now makes my pc run so slowly I only turn it on when I have to. Trouble is I forget and never bid on stuff that goes for a song !
Won 2 lots of CDs where the Multisnipe won them both
I reckon we would all be happy with a relase with some bugs fixed rather than wait for all of them – by which time Ebay might have moved the goalposts again

HELP!! JBidwatcher does not bid..
Ok. I am not the best computer guy in the world, but I hope this helps
How to find where the error files are on your pc Open JBid File Configure Paths That will show you where the files are Go to that folder I think the relevant file for me is errors.28.log Lots of code that means little to me]Maybe the key is “Fri Mar 20 18:54:26 GMT 2009: Can’t get row (id = ‘410071’). No current connection. java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: No current connection.
at org.apache.derby.impl.jdbc.SQLExceptionFactory40.getSQLException(Unknown Source)”
So it looks like I didn’t have a connection, or JBid thinks I didn’t
Hope your error log lets you know too

Any Bidwatcher Success Stories out there???
Success is always under reported especially when success become normality. For me JBid watcher, with the odd few problems recently has become ‘boring’. This is a very good thing. You use it and it just works away in the backgrond of life I wish all my software was as ‘boring’ as JBidwatche, my lief would be so much easier. I used to manually snipe, often forgot, or classically at home in the evenng or on a Sunday I would bid and my broadband would stop, just long enough for me to miss the end of the auction and note that my bid was higher than the winner. I had to find an answer to this and it was JBidwatcher. Oh yes other times I would stay at work to manually snipe when I really wanted to go home. Other times I would get home in time and then forget ! JBidwatcher = success Thanks Morgan Mike

Hi Morgan One thing I did find from your suggestion to visit ebay.com When I go to Ebay.com it only shows 10 watched items which I changed to loads more Unfortunately I have bigger problems with 2.0 so don’t know if that may have solved the problem When I said “Muppett” earlier not only am I tecnhologically challenged I do stoopid things too ! Hope this is useful Mike

[Release] JBidwatcher 2.0 is out!
Hi Morgan I installed 2 because of the only 10 items listed in JBid also hoping it would load faster I have more problems Jbid has now become unusable :-( Load time is in hours I guess, don’t know as I load it at work then go home. It’s there by morning. Only 10 expired items showing, no others when I ask it to update It slows the pc down horribly, XP Home SP3 To get around that I thought I would open my complete items and delete a load of the 4000 odd items Just sat there for around an hour “Importing the database” (or similar) in the oragne bar near the top As the pc is sufferring so badly on speed and I’m trying to work I closed it Best way forward please ? I guess go back to Beta11 and delete a lot of completed items ? Thanks Mike

Not all watched items loaded
Thanks Morgan Ebay.co.uk I’ve changed the Watched items view a few times in “Customise Items I’m Watching” currently set to 100 per page. Might some other setting be reelvant ? Not using the beta (have a message top right suggesting I “Try out the Beta”) Would a Muppet be ok with JBidwatcher beta12 ? :-) In complete I have 4874 items. Current is 15. Selling 0 Hope this might be helpful And I just ticked “Monitor” so I can get back to you faster ! Thanks again Mike

Not all watched items loaded
Delving around some more Does it make any difference if Java is in C:\Program files and JBidwatcher is on D:\Program files (not enough space on C:) I deleted some items in Ebay then “Get my Ebay items” Jbid keeps the deleted items in and adds back up to 10 of the active Ebay items.
I noticed there are some huge error files and others from way back. Good idea to delete them, perhaps aid faster loading ?

JBid window won't go smaller
Duh !
Should have said. This was the same on Beta7 as on Beta8. I’m on XP Home, SP3. The limitation – I’ve just found – is only that I cannot make the JBid window smaller. I can make it larger in the ‘Medium’ window format, as well as Minimise and Maximise (wonder what else I forgot….)

JBid window won't go smaller
Thanks for all the updates Morgan, much appreciated
I can only make the JBid window minimise or maximise, can’t tailor the size. Not a huge problem, but it would be useful and may indicate another problem maybe
Can’t see this covered elsewhere
PS. As JBidwatcher is now part of my life (!), buying all sorts on Ebay I’ve put a bit into your kitty as thnaks for all the work you are doing to keep us going

He’s done it again ! Thanks very much Morgan What a crafty way to fix it, stereotypical leading edge programmer ? :-) I had Regularly Check for new versions and Allow Live config ticked but had to do it manually
Must remember to visit the forums as soon as I think it’s broke And I remembered to drop some dough for the wonderful programme. -Thouight it was GB pounds not US $ so it looks meagre. More next time Mike

Hans Thanks for all your work so far Just visted the Java site. Could you tell us exactly what we need to download. I know almost nothing about Java Then I’ll probably come back and ask how to put the hack in unless Morgan sorts it for us
