Topic: Moving jbidwater under OSX 10.5 to new computer

yeah, ok, but migration manager is the proper way of moving the USER as their are many threads and invisible files.

That’s all I know how to move and they worked for me, sorry, I don’t know enough unix. or linux.

you can preserve EVERYTHING under Mac OS X

read about how to use Migration Assistant – under that setup, you can migrate EVERYTHING, including any settings, preferences, authentication, installed purchased applications, hidden files, etc.

It’s how Mac OS deal with such situation when you want to start using a new machine, or simply want to upgrade your OS, etc. It will migrate the USER (you can choose to select what you wish to migrate).

If you have the 2 machines setup to do the Migration, after it’s done (it might take hours depending on how much data it has to migrate), you can login to the new machine under the old user, and it will feel and look the same as before.

hmmm…. I don’t know why you want to or need to “move” the program?

Simply download from jbidwatcher.com the JBW more up to date installer and run the installer to install onto that 10.6 volume after you set that volume to be the boot volume.
