Where do we report bugs with jbidwatcher? This issue has been around for a while. Sometimes, not all the time, when I win an auction I sniped, the snipe value in the “Max” column disappears and just shows — , other times it does show the snipe value I have set when I win the auction. |

I have my snipe time set to 9 seconds and I think that is short enough to prevent anyone to react to my bid. When I started to use a sniping program I was also initially under the impression, the closer one can snipe to the end time of the auction, the better. @ Morgan – When you do another update to jbidwatcher, perhaps it would make sense to bring a warning message up if people try to set their snipe time to short. |

For the last little while I noticed that the snipingb price I have set is not always shown in the completed auctions. Previously the snipe I had set would show up under the “Max” column – either in a reddish brown if I wasn’t successful or in blue if I was successful, but lately that information has just disappeared in the completed window. I just checked the information for one of these items – it tates that the bid was actually placed (but it was too low). I knew that the bid was lower than the final price, so sniping is not the issue – it’s the snipe amount in the completed auction field that I would like to get back. |

I just downloaded and tried version 2.1.3 on OS 10.6.4 However, I have one question if Morgan reads this. |

All my current auctions now show the correct amount and the null (FP) is gone except for one, item 200548599322. |

I can’t find version 2.1.3pre1-0-g450795e either to see if it resolves this problem for me. Thanks |

I’m using version 2.1.1 What messages do you get where it tells you why the snipe failed? |

If you’re talking about the problem being items that aren’t ended yet, but have been moved to ‘Completed’, you can just mark them as not-yet-completed by selecting them, control-clicking, and selecting Advanced, and ‘Mark As Not Ended’. Then control-click again and ‘Send to Current’. Morgan – Sorry about not replying earlier, I haven’t been on ebay for quite a while now. And yes – I did mean that those auctions moved to completed prematurely. There are four of them out of seven I have in my current window. The “current” auctions also don’t update automatically, ie the bid amount and the number of bids. |

I updated a while back to version 2.1.1-0-gcde5e7b and am having a lot of problems with the end dates. The other issue is that completed auctions don’t move from the current to completed tab automatically the way they used to – probably also related to the time/day issue. On the other hand, I set up a snipe yesterday and it was processed properly by this issue of jbw. Running on a Mac with OS 10.6.4 |

Are these really “issues”? Seems it is hard enough for Morgan to just keep up with ebay’s constant changes when it comes active auctions without having to worry about the changes ebay implements constantly i the “My eBay” area. |

I never touch the time setting on my Mac. |

It’s not the speed of YOUR connection that really matters but delays through the net that bidwatcher couldn’t anticipate. However, there is no need to set the sniping time that close to the end time to successfully snipe – all you need is a snipe time short enough so that another bidder doesn’t see your high bid and has time to react to it. |

Did you try to set up a snipe later? |

I don’t know but why would you even want to use a sniping tool for that? |

When I look at the details, my problem is very similar to the problem reported a few days ago where jbidwatcher bids 2 minutes early. Seems the time synchronization didn’t work. The strange thing is that I bid on another auction later in the day and for that the time synchronization was perfect. I have the sniping set to 6 seconds. Currently |

>>>> So what I want to know now, for the sake of future bids/snipes, is whether this latest version is reliable enough to trust? Xavian – I’m on a Mac using OS X and for me jbidwatcher has been as reliable as one can possibly expect. But having said that, I have still lost a number of bids even though my snipe was higher than the winning bid. I just wanted to point this out because if there is really a very important auction to you with a “once in a lifetime opportunity”, I wouldn’t try to snipe with jbidwatcher or manual or any other way. There are just too many things that can go wrong over which jbidwatcher has no control. |

I always have problems when I want to use search manager. I have about 10 searches in there and none are enabled. I just added another search criteria – search by ebay seller name – high-lighted that line in search manager and clicked search………expected to see that sellers auctions added but what happens is that all searches in search manager start and I get hundreds of additional entries in my current auction list To make it worse, I then have a hard time getting rid of them. But the initial problem is that one can’t selectively control search manager – that has been a problem for as long as I can remember, nothing recent. It’s just a feature I very seldom use – actually I stopped using it because it didn’t work. |

I don’t see a definition of “Multi-snipe” in the FAQs, but my understanding is that you use Multi-snipe if there are a number of the same auctions on ebay and you only want one. In your case, you just want regular snipes for each of the 8 items. |

I tried entering auction numbers like you do using the green plus sign and typing the auction ID. |

I always copy the auction number and then use right click and “paste auction” instead of typing the auction number manually. As to multiple auctions ending at the same time? |

Ebay could just stop the sniping by changing the rules and the software – other sites have done that but I think consumers are not buying into that concept. However – I have an odd problem First time I have seen the word ‘null’ under the current price. |

This is more of an announcement rather than a problem or question. I’m registered with ebay.ca but usually go to ebay.com Until a few days ago, if I received an email notification of an item and if it was an ebay.de item that would only ship to Germany, I would get an error message when I loaded the ebay page, but one of the notes on the error page was a link to the original auction on ebay.de. Well, just now, I had an email notification of one of these ebay.de items, but when I clicked on the link expecting to go to the error page first, the ebay window actually opened within ebay.com even though this was a ‘ship-to-Germany’ only item. Not sure if this is a change of heart by ebay after many people complained about it or if it’s an ebay bug. PS: The auction number is 300298862962 |
