What the status on My JBidwatcher. I have an account but have several old items in current and I’m not seeing a great deal of synchrinization for 2.1.6. |

I created a My JBidwatcher account, received the activation code, and successfully (it appears) connected according to the Preferences settings. I have one Snipe session currently running. However, when I go to the My JBidwatcher site, all I see is a single screen titled “current Auctions” but no other information or listing. What should I expect to see in the “current Auctions” window? |

I load JBidwatcher on startup in the startup folder; indeed, this is the technique recommended in the FAQ. Upon upgrading to pre8 I have found that Windows now complains that the exe isn’t signed and I have to manually confirm startup. I’m sure I didn’t have to do this in past versions… |

We have a winner! I tried disabling MyJbidwatcher by editing the configuration file and now 2.1pre8 runs normally. Thank you, Budney! I kind of suspected that this was due to some obscure difference in my configuration or in how I use JBidwatcher since evidently not everyone is having this problem. I played around with MyJbidwatcher a little about 6 months ago but never got it working properly. So maybe my particular non-functional setup is partly to blame. |

Update: now I’m fairly convinced that it was caused by “My JBidwatcher.” I tried turning it off many times in the preferences and it would be right back on after restarting… but after editing the config file directly and deleting my username and password, performance has been solid for the last 18 hours. |

I’m seeing this slowness, and it’s driving me nuts because I’m using JBidwatcher to buy diabetic care supplies, and it keeps missing auctions because it’s so dog slow. Here’s how I observed the problem. First, I created a new tab and called it “Test Strips.” Then I created a search, updated hourly, for “aviva strips,” that put the results on that tab. I enabled the setting to remember deleted auctions. So every hour, more auctions appear on the tab for test strips for my Accu-Check Aviva. I look them over, delete the ones I don’t want, and set a snipe amount for the rest. It didn’t take long before this incredibly awful performance started showing itself. Killing and restarting helps, but you have to do that once an hour, which defeats the entire purpose of running JBidwatcher. I’m using 2.1-pre8 on a Macbook. |

Hi there, using 2.1pre8 with “Sun Microsystems Inc. Java, version 1.6.0_20 on Windows XP”: After starting up JBidwatcher, it is loading the auctions fine, but then it maxes out the computer for about one minute, quickly eating up over 500MB of memory, although there are only maybe 100 auctions in total. Since the computer is a bit old, JBidwatcher is not really usable. In the error.log, I found this: Sun Jun 27 12:20:32 CEST 2010: setServer: 0.0 × 93(0) (BTW, in the configuration I’ve set “ebay.de”, but it seems to be using ebay.co.uk?) Regards, |

Hi, I just installed 2.1pre8 and found a nasty bug. This also happens when you refresh the viewed items from myebay and some new get added. They are added at the bottom of the list regardless of the sorting of the table and only after all are updated get sorted in the right order. As the GUI is not locked during retrieval you can make a selection during the fetch of the data and start to create a multisnipe (even on the newly added auctions) and when the sorting finally kicks in before you finish the creation of the multisnipe and the newly added auctions do not stay at the end of the list you again make a multisnipe on the wrong items. As you are using Java I guess you use a JTable and the function jTable.getSelectedRows() to get the selection and the convert function for the indexes to the underlying List of auctions. |

Has anybody else noticed that pre7 and pre8 seems to be really, really slow? It starts out being pretty responsive to UI interactions like changes in the tab, entering new auctions, etc. but then it just gets slower & slower. After a couple of hours it takes >5 seconds to respond to a click on the scrollbar. I haven’t tried sniping with this version yet so I don’t know how much the slowdown will affect that. I had a large number of expired auctions and since the loading of finished auctions never completed I suspected that that was the cause but I deleted a large number of those and it is still slow even tho now it completes. I’m using the Windows executable and Java 1.6.0.70. |

Greetings, There are two lines that are commented out in 2.1pre8 that enable that feature; I’m hoping to uncomment them out during the 2.1 final release. :) — Morgan Schweers, CyberFOX! |

I’m seeing the same thing with 2.1pre8 that was just released a few days ago. It’s been that way (for me) since 2.1pre6 came out! :( How does the rest of the jbidwatcher world get auction lists to load?! |

Hi Morgan – I downloaded from the link above, and am running JBidwatcher (2.1pre7-29-g519c99a) . Auction 190400691880 is showing in JBidwatcher as a Buy it Now, and not as an auction. Cheers, Liam |

i’m having issues, too. previously (2.1pre6) my ebay items sync’d fine, now they won’t sync completely (only one of 5 or so was actually added to the “my ebay” list in jbw) and thus i had to manually add them. next time i started jbw they were transferred to the “finished” items even though they’re still going auctions. i’ve kept my jbw DB for years now and i’d hate to reset it because it contains a lot of information about past prices, so deleting the DB files is not really an option for me… |

Three cheers for Morgan! Pre7 fixes a few bugs I’ve mentioned. If the API is stable enough, I may even write a native Mac interface for it. |
