Greetings,
What I seriously plan to do before next release:

  • Snipe: ‘Subtract Shipping’ checkbox in the snipe box.
  • Search Edit: Add ‘Destination Tab’ textbox & widen it.
  • Save last 5 days of auctions.xml in clearly named files.
  • Recognize ‘revived’ listings (30 day FP, run ’til done)
  • Fix ‘OBO’ listings to show the base price at least.
    • JBidwatcher will NOT support placing ‘Best Offers’ yet.

What I’d like to do, but might not get to:

  • Document Linux launching
  • Document all the new icons, colors, and formatting.
  • Update the in-program FAQ, and put it on the site too.

Extra columns I still need to code up support for:

  • Seller & Buyer Email (1 column for each)
  • Seller & Buyer Total Feedback (1 column for each)
  • Seller Positive Feedback Percentage
  • Item Location
  • Auction Start Time (I don’t always get this!)
  • Price to Pay (Cur Bid + S/H)
  • Quantity Available
  • Subtitle (Motors, and some regular listings)

Things that are always ongoing and take a long time:

  • Debug heavy memory usage on Windows.
  • Figure out if ‘My eBay’ is broken, or if it’s a side-effect.

I would love to get to, but expect that I won’t:

  • An overhaul of ‘updater’ code to handle news & fixes.
  • Multi-monitor display/UI bugs.
  • In-program HTTPS proxy support.
  • UTF-8 issue loading saved items w/umlauts on Linux.
  • Buttons on bottom for access to context-menu actions.
    • (A great suggestion from one of my users.)

The quantity of changes between 0.9.7pre3 and the current CVS version are massive. There are over 40 bugs fixed, probably a half-dozen or more requested features added, and a lot of cleanups that I felt were necessary, but nobody else mentioned.

Oh, and ‘Buy It Now’ through JBidwatcher is also supported. (Although it doesn’t warn you at all right now, I plan to fix that of course, and even with a checkbox to never warn again.)

The other big new feature is entirely customizable sets of columns per-tab. (Right/Cmd-click on the tabs to customize them.)

It’s going to be a very major release…

Greetings,
I’ve also succumed to the inevitable. The general configuration tab now contains a new entry:
‘Ignore deleted items in search results’.
By default it is enabled.

If you’re having problems loading ‘My eBay’ items, it’s probably because you deleted them, and then tried to reload them again. Turn this off briefly, run your ‘My eBay’ search again, and then turn it on, and you’ll probably get the stuff you want loaded.

In general, you REALLY want to leave it checked, though.

Greetings,
All in the first set except ‘Save last 5 days of auctions.xml in clearly named files’ are done.

Lots of other stuff ended up being needed, unfortunately.

Documentation is still the sore point.

Coding up the extraction of all the extra user and item data is the second most sore point.

Please try to setup a small snip rule engine with the basics. It is very helpful :)
