Hi. I just upgraded from 2.3 to 2.5.5.

I set snipes for two items and lost them both. They went for less than my total snipe amount so i looked at the log.

Right as the bids are supposed to snipe it says “cancelling snipe” and then that the auction is over.

Didn’t do anything different than I have ever done in older versions. The same thing happened to a friend of mine last week with the version 2.5.5. That is three auctions new version has failed to bid on sadly. This is unacceptable.

Is it safe to roll back to 2.3 or is the newest bulls working !

Same for me. Running 2.5.5 on OSX 10.9 and missed a bunch of auctions in the last week or so. All auctions ended below my max bids.
Only 1 auction made it through and I won that.

I did a clean, fresh install of 2.5.5 on MBP with 10.9.1 and did not have much issues with duplicated tabs, etc.

BUT, Macbook Pro went to sleep and never wake up although the (app nap) was set to OFF under OS 10.9.1 and snipe never went …. but that’s only a test sniping so no big lost. I understand that if my computer is at sleep, it will not snipe, that’s logical….. so I need to figure out if I should keep programs running and make my MBP not to sleep… which I do with my iMac running 2.5.3pre3 and it’s under OS 10.6.8 and it works good on sniping and I win all I can (if I set the snipe price high enough)…

Until I can figure out more later, I am still happy with OS 10.6.8 and JBW2.53pre3, and that OS level kept me alive with 4 or 5 more SW that I need to use also……

Let me know what you guys can figure out later also… Thanks.

Hi,

I am running the latest 2.5.5-0-g9fecd73 with the App Nap turned off on Mac OS X 10.9. I have recently experienced numerous occurrences of snipes cancelling themselves (6 our of 7 snipes last sunday!). I sat here tonight watching the my auctions in JBidwatcher and found that I had exactly the same problems as reported above. Five minutes before the auction had concluded, JBidwatcher moved the item into the completed folder. In the Information panel, it stated “Cancelling snipe. Auction is reported as ended.” I deleted the entry (still 5 minutes to go on eBay) and pasted the item number into a new entry in the current tab. It immediately moved the item into completed – It would seem that there might be a parsing error on some items and the Auction End time is getting corrupted or confused. I am sniping on ebay.co.uk.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

David

Another bit of news on failed snipes.. just 5 minutes ago… Here is the item summary from the Get Info Box. Note that JBidwatcher fired off the bid after the auction finish time!

Another snipe failure. JBidwatcher believes the listing has ended – 6 days early! – Snipe cancelled and item moved into completed folder.

Does anyone have a work-around? This is becoming very un-stable!

Thanks

David

I have the same problem with the current 2.5.5 version. JB thinks the auction is ended when it’s not. So no snipes on those. Is ebay doing something to kill this function?

same problem here. the time clears is BEFORE listing ending time and it canceled the snipe

What happened ? Is there is parameter ( I am sure there is within the sea of custom parameters ) where you FORCE it to snipe- does not matter if auction is dead or alive ..?

Avatar sieger007 11 post(s)

there has to be a parameter over here that will disable any kind of snipe cancellation as a result of a ‘wrong impression’ the client gets regarding the auction. If someone thinks along this line and finds something out – pl post.
