I drag and drop from firefox location bar or link to main jbidwatcher window, but the auction is not added. If I select ‘paste’, it says failed because it’s already in my auction list. The only way I’ve found to work is to select add auction and paste the url into the window.

This drag and drop was really handy for adding auctions.

same here.

i know ebay – by constantly changing things – don’t make it easy for developers but, even so, it would be nice if each new version of jbidwatcher did more than fix one problem at the expense of breaking something else [usually something which was working perfectly before].

after about four years of using the app, i’m finding this eternal game of ‘bugfix whack-a-mole’ is getting a bit tiring.

Greetings Morgan!

Drag and drop stopped working here, too. However, it doesn’t seem to be related to 2.1.1, as I now have the same problem when trying older versions (2.1.pre7 and some others). OS is WinXP.

Thanks for all your work!

Likewise, drag and drop stopped working. I gather Ebay has changed the auction header again.

Unfortunate, D&D stopped working for me a month or so ago. I was using 2.1pre8 then (2.1.1 now), and I suspect it was one of the Mac OS X (10.6.3) updates that stop it. However, looks like others on different OSs have the same problem. How did the last D&D issue get solved?

D&D stopped as well as find for new auctions when I updated from 2.1 pre8 to 2.1.1. I am using Windows 7. JBidwatcher was working perfectly until about a month ago as well. Every once and awhile I work with it for about 1 hour and see if I can figure out what the problem is but have not been able to get it to work at all. The last auction I was able to bid on was August 4th, and after August 10th I have not been able to add any new auctions by any methods.

@recycled: Have you tried copying the auction number, then right click in JBW and select Paste auction ? This is what works for me at the moment.

@Morgan: Any advice on the drag & drop problem?

Drag & drop broken for me too on Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) with JBW 2.1.1 freshly built from git.

Did some investigating and on my Linux machine the problem is in TargetDrop::receiveDropString, where the call to tinyDocument.getAllURLsOnPage(true) is returning null. Here is a sample dropped string that causes this problem:

I posted a bug report here:

https://jbidwatcher.lighthouseapp.com/projects/…

I have drag & drop working again on Linux with a modified JBW 2.1.1. The file attached to the bug report has the changes I made. It would be interesting to know if those changes help on Windows and Mac too.

Is there a fix for this?

Do you have a complete uninstaller so I can do a re-install of the latest version or previous versions?

I updated to the new version “JBidwatcher 2.1.2 (pre-baby edition)” just about an hour ago and have been watching the program getting auctions moving old auctions to closed, etc. Drag and drop works great. It seems that all the previous problems that I was having on my Windows 7 machine are fixed.!! I have read in other posts that the CPU’s went to 100% so loaded up Windows Task Manager and my cpu never went over 50% and computer worked fine. But I’m using a Core 2 Duo at 3 GHz with 4 GB ram.

Thank you so much Morgan!
