I just updated to 2.1.1 and lost my all my history. I am running Mac OSX 10.6.4. I tried to paste a completed auction to the program, but Jbidwatcher stated it could not add the auction as it was already in my list. Can I recover the list form a backup or other means?

I have the same issue on windows xp sp3 with 2.1.1. I went back to 2.1pre8 and the history database loaded and displayed fine.

Unfortunately, I tried to go back to a previous version and the history was still lost. I need to try and recover the file from a previous backup, if possible. What is the name of the file and where should it be located? I am confused when the program says it can not add an auction because it is already in my list (and yet it does not show).

My copy of 2.1 (os x 10.5.8, java 1.5.0_24) offered an automated update to 2.1.1-0-gcde5e7b, which I accepted. JBW then spent the next few minutes posting messages at the bottom of the window regarding processing of my completed auctions, going back to 2007. Now, the ‘Completed’ window is empty. ~/.jbidwatcher was still full of old material, so I’ve backed it up. Any hints for repopulating the window?

I just updated to 2.1.1 also and lost all history on completed auctions and it will not display selling items either. Window is blank. Using Mac OSX 10.6.4. If I pass cursor over the blank areas while holding down the mouse button in the window, items appear briefly but then disappear when the cursor is moved or double clicked. I also would like to know the name of the file and where it is located to try to retrieve this data.

I’ll add my voice to this chorus. Same symptoms as Carl Holmberg. I reverted to 2.1pre5 and that’s better. By the way, when I tried restoring 2.1pre5 from Time Machine, it kept failing saying I didn’t have permissions, but I’m admin on my own iMac. I finally traced it to the permissions on Jbidwatcher being r-r-r. When installing JBW, should set permissions to rw-rw-r.

It’s not lost (in Windows XP SP3). When a tab with a lot of entries is opened it looks empty at first, but clicking several times on the scroll bar brings something back. Most of the bottom of the list looks good, but scrolling to the top gets a badly fragmented display, and then it seems to hang up. If I send a few history items to a newly created tab they display properly in the new tab. It’s not lost history, it’s a problem displaying long lists. Same problem in 2.1 and 2.1.1, not in 2.1pre8 or earlier…. I played it safe. I keep all the old versions in the same folder and copy the latest to Jbidwatcher.exe, so I don’t have to change the shortcuts and I can always test earlier versions. I recommend that.
