Leopard problems

OK, I just posted in another thread about the issue I’m having with auctions not being displayed after their added with 2.0beta5 and 6. So I was using 2.0beta3 which does display things correctly, but having two other problems: 1) Tried to snipe two auctions and neither even sent bids in (checked history). Is anyone having success w/ JBidwatcher on Leopard? Thanks! |

Hi. I’m using 2.0beta7 on Leopard and it does not function smoothly. Can’t manually move auctions from one category to another. Sometimes two copies of a single auction appear when I use “get selling items.” I’m not complaining. The software and support have been remarkable for a free program. I suspect (and you won’t like this) that it is about time for Morgan to begin charging a fee for the software. It would be fair, to say the least. I know I have definitely profited by the sniping feature, and so could spare a bit of change (please keep the tariff reasonable). But, with new baby and all, isn’t it sort of obvious that JBid needs to be a product that generates some income. Wife will quickly tire of late night programming sessions if not rewarded with diamonds—or at least nappies. Anyway, back to Leopard. Gosh, I hope JBid can get up and running in Leopard, but it is still hobbled by:
Haven’t been sniping as I’m broke, so can’t report on sniping. Great program. Sure would like to see it (and it’s creator) succeed. Best, J.R. |

Greetings, My wife is amazingly wonderful, and doesn’t begrudge the occasional late night binges of programming, except during those instances when someone ELSE takes JBidwatcher and makes money on it. That said, yeah, the pressures of college funds and the like are making me think about what I can do to encourage more folks to send in a bit of money. This isn’t a great time for it; you’re not the only one who’s broke out there. I do have a plan, and while it won’t be directly charging for the application, it will be offering a service that (I hope) adds value to JBidwatcher. Thanks very much for the kind words though. The duplication problem is my most pressing issue right now. I haven’t replicated it anywhere, so it’s driving me nuts. I’m curious if you find that it’s the auctions that are duplicated that you can’t move? — Morgan Schweers, CyberFOX! |

Morgan: I’m a fairly heavy JBW user, and I’m happy to run a debug load if it would help you.. >Right how I have an auction that’s duplicated 8 times in my list.. |

I am having the same problem with the duplicating auctions. Sometimes 10 of them duplicate, sometimes 1 duplicates several times. I don’t seem to see a pattern except it only happens when I set up the search for My Ebay Items and/or a search for My Selling items and then set it on a timer to repeat the searches every hour. Within a couple of hours I start getting the duplicates. Now if I wipe jbidwatcher and start over with a clean database and do NOT set up or activate the searches I do NOT get the duplicates. Even when I manually click on the jbidwatcher menu items of get my ebay or get my selling items multiple times. I hope this helps! -Shawn |
